Oh Friday I Love You
HOORAY! It’s Friday! The start of a glorious weekend AT HOME. I have traveled way too much this fall and am so glad to be home this weekend.
It is Matthew’s birthday today – happy birthday baby– and we are going out on a date to celebrate. We are going to a surprise, amazing restaurant downtown – at least I have heard it is amazing – we haven’t been before. Then we are going see Demetri Martin. It should be a really nice night. We are in desperate need of US time. Any other parents struggle to get us time with littles in the house?
Tomorrow I am going to the Junior League of Nashville’s Tis the Season. I have not been before, but I think it is the perfect thing to kick off the holiday season. More than 100 merchants will be there!
I am also going to be doing some writing for a few looming deadlines, Operation Project Life and a mini Christmas card photo shoot with Elias and Adeline (I just want one good picture!!) I am hoping to get my cards ordered right after Thanksgiving.
Then Sunday we have church and dinner with friends. I’ll probably also start to pack for the Thanksgiving holidays and maybe order this gratitude freebie from Paper Coterie.
What does your weekend look like?
Time with the littles – yes I struggle there too! Weekends belong to them, dinners (at least 3 during the week), little league, art classes, reading a book together, etc. It is so hard with deadlines, responsibilities, etc. I remind myself constantly – they are my first responsibility – along with the husband…
This weekend we are traveling north a few hours to visit with friends from out of town (unexpected), it will be wonderful to see them after months away from eachother and just family time!
Yay for birthdays!!! Today is my birthday too! I’m going out to lunch with a few friends and then dinner tomorrow night. Hopefully this weekend I can keep the homework to a minimum but I graduate from college in a few weeks so its a crazy time! I’m thinking about doing Project Life next year, thanks for the inspiration.
We struggle there too – big time. It’s so hard and we need to work on it.
This weekend – tonight we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving with my family and have a joint birthday celebration for our sweet Derek who turned two on Tuesday.
Tomorrow, I’ll have the day at home with my boys – need to brave the store for some “soft foods” as CJ is having surgery Tuesday (nothing major).
But tomorrow night, we have a sitter, and we are going out with a couple in our Church, KID FREE! We’ll be able to complete a topic without interruption from one of our combined five children! (they have 3) 🙂 oh, and our sitter was happy for me to pay her by fixing her supper so that’s pretty cool as well 🙂
Sunday is Church. I’m excited for this weekend. <3
Oh how I hear you about getting away with littles at home! My daughter is 3 and my son is 9 months, and my husband is currently working at a camp job away from home. It’s been several different jobs since March (the joys of a job in the construction industry) and at times, he’s been more than 15 hours drive away from home and gone for as long as 4 weeks at a time. For the last month he has only been an hour and a half away from home and so far has had Sundays off.
But it’s so hard to find that special time together and a date night is practically out of the question as our church moved to an evening service recently… *Sigh*.
Happy birthday to Matthew, may it be filled with loved ones and blessings 🙂 And enjoy your night away from the kids 🙂
Praying you get your picture!
