Project Life Tuesday: Week Three
I started Project Life Tuesday in 2010 because:
- I needed to keep myself accountable and on top of my photos each week.
- My family loved being able to count on a weekly post with pics of the kids.
- I thought others might want to keep themselves accountable too.
It was a huge blessing and so I am excited to be kicking off my third year of this series.
Each Tuesday, I will share my spread from the previous week, as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. This year, Epson is sponsoring Project Life Tuesday, and they provided me with their Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201) for many of my album’s photos. Printing photos at home is hopefully going to help keep me on track!
If you link up, please be sure to include the Project Life Tuesday button or a link to The Mom Creative in your post.
Notes about my album: Before showing my layouts, I want to share a few details about my album:
- I am using the colbalt kit this year.
- I stamped all my weekly 6×4 cards and have placed them in my album. It just seemed easiest to get this done all at once. I used a date stamp from a past Project Life kit. If you don’t have on, Amazon has date stamps
for less than $5. You can also find them at office supply stores. - I printed my photos at home using my new Epson printer. I loved how convenient it was. I plan to print most of my pictures at home this year, especially large format images, using the Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201)

Now, on to my completed pages- remember you can click on the photos to make them bigger.
This week Adeline was home sick all week, which meant we took even more pictures than normal. To accommodate all that I wanted to include, I used a Design A page protector, a Design F page protector, half a Design E page protector and a 6×12 3-up page protector. YEOW! When I add page protectors to my center spread, I always make sure that they are shorter than the main spread. I just prefer how that looks stylistically.
Each side of the 6×12 page protector has a theme. The “front” is photos of Elias cooking with me (see first photo (above)) and the “back” is about Adeline being sick. I like these mini features within the week.
I cut the Design E page protector in half, but am keeping the other half to maybe adhere to an 8.5×11 page in the future (as a pocket). I really like the look of the 6×6 photo of Adeline wrapped in the blanket (see second photo (above)), as well as the tracings of Elias’s hand and foot and the medicinal bits from Adeline’s illness.
Since I had so many photos, I didn’t use as many journaling cards as usual. Instead, I used a lot of journaling stickers from October Afternoon, Jenni Bowlin and 7 Gypsies, as well as a few other little accent embellishments. In a couple spots, I put the journaling sticker on TOP OF the page protector, instead of the image itself (like the long green sticker below).
Be sure to be following me on Pinterest, particularly my Project Life board to be inspired by many Project Life layouts and loads of free and cheap printables. (I love these new printables from Kristina Proffitt – so fun!).
Also, if you don’t “like” The Mom Creative on Facebook, what are you waiting for? I post tons of extras on there and would be honored for you to be a part of that community!
I can’t wait to see your layouts and photos.
It is amazing how they are already starting to play together. How old is she again? I lose track so quickly. Mine is ten months old, almost eleven, and plays a little bit with her brother. Too bad you don’t live close enough for a play date 😉
Hope she is feeling better.
Love the look of one photo divided between two pockets, nicely done.
She turned seven months on Monday!
I love the hand and foot tracing!
Thanks for hosting such a fun linky party. LOVE to see what everyone is doing. Plus, for me the accountability is motivating to keep up!
Love how you split one picture into to spaces and use the label that goes on the protectors. Thanks for allowing us to link up.
Yes, I did that twice this week (the tire swing and the kids on the bed). I love when that trick works out because it is unexpected and fun.
Thanks again for the link up.
Your layouts are great. You really captured the week well. Like the use of stickers.
Love this link up and your layouts, Jessica! That picture of Elias and Adeline is so precious.
awww sweet Adeline, hope she’s better soon. love ALL your photos. wow you did capture a lot this week! Love. I am trying to decide on how many inserts I would want to add…I really want to keep it to one book but so often it’s hard to choose what to add for the week. I too agree with the smaller inserts, love your idea in trimming them down, haven’t gotten that brave yet…
at the rate I am going, I am definitely going to have two books this week. But that’s okay, each week’s layout makes my heart so darn happy.
Wow! Holy pictures Batman! You did a wonderful job of incorporating fun sizes of photos, additional items, and everything else into this week’s layout. Way to go, Jessica! I think I’m definitely going to have to look into getting some of those journaling stickers you use. THAT’S what my album is missing!
I think I need to write a post with links to some of my favorites. Thanks for inspiring that idea!
Oh those sweet little baby photos are killing me. Such a cute stage. Thanks for the link up-very fun!
Gorgeous layout as usual! I love your mini themes! Before this year, each PAGE had to be a theme, but I am loving the flexibility of NOT having themes this year! I will still include themes as their own layout (2 page spread) though. Which means next week I will have 3 layouts! So LOVING Project Life, though! =)
Thanks for hosting, Jessica!
I linked up even though there are a lot of post its….I’m so thankful for this because I’m not giving up!!!
Your week is so full of fun & activities I love how you cut your page protectors I want to give that a try one of my weeks! Thank you for all the inspiration.
Awww thanks so much!
Love your pages and this link party 🙂 I look forward to it over the weekend and it certainly keeps me motivated! Thank you.
looks great Jess! I am laughing that we used the same MM word stickers, I’ve been hoarding those things for years, lol! I love how many pictures you are able to get in
I loved your pages this week. And um yes, I have a lot of those stickers. they were on clearance at Target for 48 cents. I bought all they had. 🙂

I like how you used the 3×4 journaling cards with photos in the larger pockets. 🙂
