Project Life Tuesday: Week Five
I started Project Life Tuesday in 2010 because:
- I needed to keep myself accountable and on top of my photos each week.
- My family loved being able to count on a weekly post with pics of the kids.
- I thought others might want to keep themselves accountable too.
It was a huge blessing and so I am excited to be kicking off my third year of this series.
Each Tuesday, I will share my spread from the previous week, as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. This year, Epson is sponsoring Project Life Tuesday, and they provided me with their Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201) for many of my album’s photos. Printing photos at home is hopefully going to help keep me on track!
If you link up, please be sure to include the Project Life Tuesday button or a link to The Mom Creative in your post.
Notes about my album: Before showing my layouts, I want to share a few details about my album:
- I am using the colbalt kit this year.
- I stamped all my weekly 6×4 cards and have placed them in my album. It just seemed easiest to get this done all at once. I used a date stamp from a past Project Life kit. If you don’t have on, Amazon has date stamps
for less than $5. You can also find them at office supply stores. - I printed my photos at home using my new Epson printer. I loved how convenient it was. I plan to print most of my pictures at home this year, especially large format images, using the Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201)

Now, on to my completed pages (click on images to make them big and see the details). I used a standard Design A page protector, a 6 x 12 for three 6×4 photos, and a 12×12 protector that has three 6×4 slots and a 6×12 slot (from this multi-pack).
I kept things fairly simple this week and loved how everything turned out.
On the left page: I busted out some rub-ons from my stash. I used them on both the bath photo (top right) and the journaling card on the bottom right. In the lower left, I cropped two photos to 2×2 and attached them to a journaling card.
I also used some plastic letters from my stash (I think they are Heidi Swapp) to give the bath time journaling card some pop. I love using these types of supplies to really make my cards pop.
On the two photos to the left of the bath time card I used small journaling stickers.
The three 6×4 photo slots in the added protector tell the story of Elias’s first trip to the dentist. I also attached the sticker he got at the dentist to the outside of the protector. I love how it overlaps two slots.
On the back side of the added protector, I have a photo of Elias with some new trucks he got from my mom, the note she sent with the package and some bits from Adeline’s tubes surgery.
The whole right page is dedicated to Adeline’s tubes insertion. I took lots of photos pre-op and created two 6×4 collages so I could use more photos. I also used some Making Memories felt letter stickers on the large 6×7 photo. I mounted the photo on some lined scrapbook paper to journal the story about why she got tubes and her surgery. This technique is a great way to work in a large photo AND use a 6×12 page protector/slot. You don’t have to have an oversized printer to make this type of insert work.
Your turn to link up! Please be sure to link back to The Mom Creative or use one of the Project Life Tuesday buttons on your post.
I love your rub-on letters because they give a lot more dimension to the Bath Time piece. I love how you have also worked in something major (like getting tubes inserted) into your PL pages. Sometimes I stress about thinking I need to dedicate complete layouts to big things. I like how PL helps us to put these things in the context of everything else happening in the week too.
Love your pages.
When Elias got tubes, I did a two-page layout… glad I just worked it right into PL this time around.
Your layouts look great – again.
I am sure your daughter will look back at the photos of her hospital visit and be fascinated by it – these are great things to document in PL. Hopefully she will be feeling better in no time.
Like the letters stuck on the handwritten journal cards.
Thanks again for putting up PL Tuesdays.
Thanks!
I’m a PLT first timer! Rub ons and stamps! I’ve pulled from my old stash too. Journaling is my weakness (I’m getting better) and it looks like it’s your strength. Great layout for the week.
I have always tuckered out on the journaling in my PL albums… my goal is to change that this year!
Love this link up, and your pages are looking amazing! I’m persevering with the day-by-day record, but will definitely be following your specific layout a week method next time around!
I switched mid-way last year, so don’t feel like you have to stick it out all year if it doesn’t work for you!
Thanks for putting this together, I love all the inspiration! Your pages are wonderful and I love how you included things from your stash. I need to do that has well. My stash has been sitting around for a long time and PL is great for using little thigns has well. thanks for the great ideas…I can;t wait to see what you do next week!
It has been fun using bits from my stash. I have never done it before because I thought it was too time consuming, but the fun I am having makes it worth the few extra minutes. 🙂
I love all the journaling in your layouts. And the smiles are so big. Thank you for another great week.
Thanks so much. I was going to type the tubes journaling, but am glad I did the handwriting instead.
Lovin’ your pages, Jessica! Love that large photo! 🙂
Big always looks good, doesn’t it?
thank you for linking me up girl! I’m crazy today but I wanted to comment and say I LOVE YOU and love your project this week! AWESOME, SIMPLE, ADDING IN OLD STUFF, YOUR CUTIE PIE BOY, ADORABLE GIRL! you rock friend. *hearts and love and happiness to you! Keep Calm and Project Life on! 🙂
Thanks, friend! Your PL was REDONKULOUS. Loved the collage most of all. xo
I always love looking at your pages! And your kids are SO cute!
great pages, with the rub ons, love using rub ons too, hope your daughter is feeling better now with her tubes
wonderful pages.. oh poor baby to have the tubes put in so young.. hope they do the job and make her feel better. your pages are wonderful. I love what you are doing.
I need to dig out my rub-ons…so much to do and so little time! First I think I need to just get caught up…but I’m only one week behind so I’m not going to get too down on myself. Thanks as always for hosting and for inspiring us all.
Aw, poor baby! One of my daughters had eye surgery a few months ago-not fun when they’re so little.
I love your album, so full of the little details…perfect.
