Project Life Week 13
I started Project Life Tuesday in 2010 because:
- I needed to keep myself accountable and on top of my photos each week.
- My family loved being able to count on a weekly post with pics of the kids.
- I thought others might want to keep themselves accountable too.
It was a huge blessing and so I am excited to be kicking off my third year of this series.
Each Tuesday, I will share my spread from the previous week, as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. This year, Epson is sponsoring Project Life Tuesday, and they provided me with their Epson Stylus R2880 Large Format Photo Printer (C11CA16201) for many of my album’s photos. Printing photos at home is hopefully going to help keep me on track!
I’m still running a week behind, but I am not discouraged. I know I can get caught up. Maybe this weekend will be less crazy. 🙂 I was a bit over zealous to think I could get caught up Easter weekend.
The start of week 13 for me was the tail-end of my parents’ visit, so again, I had A LOT of photos.
After three months, I am embracing my approach of always having extra inserts. At the start of 2012, I did NOT think that would be my style, but I LOVE it. For the past three years, when I did the photo a day approach, I always felt like I was leaving stuff out. Now, I really feel like a complete view of our week is documented.
For this week, in addition to my regular spread, I used a 6×12 insert and a trimmed Design F page.
Here’s spread one. Nothing terribly unique. Just some of my favorite photos. We spent the afternoon at the park, so I used the trimmed F insert to showcase a bunch of my favorite photos from that adventure. I love the story they tell together.
On the back of that insert are more photos from the park and my parent’s visit.
I then used the 6×12 insert to blow up a few favorite photos. On side one I stacked two 6×6 photos of Elias and Adeline sitting together. I didn’t want to embellish much, so I simply used thickers to spell out {PALS}.
On the back side of the 6×12, I used three photos of Elias riding his bike. One photo is 6×9, and the others are 3×3. The words Mr. Big Shot are a combination of Thickers and Making Memory stickers. I love the stacked text. I also trimmed an old Sassafras Lass journaling sticker in half and added that to the top right of the photo.
The last page was from a combination page protector pack. All the slots are 4×4. I had so much fun with this page. I added numbers to the nine photos, then made one journaling card (trimmed from my colbalt kit) that describes all nine. I used a hambly rub-on on the journaling card to give it a little color.
Oh! And if you haven’t done so, be sure to add your email address to the subscribe box below. It is a free and easy way to ensure you never miss a post – and you get entered to win a $75 Paper Coterie gift certificate!

I love the picture of your mom, Adeline and you! That will be a treasured shot for years to come!
thanks so much for hosting the project life linkies Jessica!! they just make PL even more fun, and a deadline always helps 🙂
I would be so far behind without Project Life Tuesday! I need the weekly deadline.
Your pages always looks great! But, I love the picture of Elias and his bike! So sweet:). Hope you and your family had a great Easter!
You are too kind.
I just love looking at your pages each week! Adorable, as always:)
Love that page of 4x4s!
Thanks! Me too!!
Love your 6×12 pages this week! Hope to give that a try in some upcoming pages!
In addition to my previous comment…
There’s so much great inspiration here! I usually stick to design A & G pages but I am really liking what you are doing with some of the other designs. I think I will placing an Amazon order once some of the other pages come back in stock!!!!
I love the variety of pages. It makes the book so much more interesting to look at.
Aw, I love those photos of Elias riding his bike!
Is that page of 4×4 in one of the variety packs from BH?
No, but she should TOTALLY add it. 🙂 It is from We are Memory Keepers. (http://pinterest.com/pin/104427285079806754/)
Mr. Big Shot is such a cute insert!
Thank you. I was really thrilled with how it turned out.
I really like the last page with 4X4 photos and how you numbered them. That was a good way to keep the focus on the photos. I also liked the 6X12 insert a lot. At first I was curious why you didn’t just use the page protector with 6X6 slots until I saw how you switched things up on the backside. It’s nice how you gave yourself space for more variety. Love Elias’ face on the bike and it looks like he’s got a little bit of dare devil in him and taking his hands off the handles!
Your pages are just lovely Jessica. The picture of Elias on his bike with the text is gorgeous.
oh yay, i love all the photos! the colors are awesome, and the 6×9 photo…my fave.
I finally bought a PL kit and am almost caught up on all my photos! I’m hoping to link up with you next week and share what I’ve been doing. Thanks for being such a motivation for me to use scrapbooking and PL as a creative outlet. I love it!
