The Happiest Little Video
Our only regret from our Hilton Head beach trip is that we didn’t film more video.
Thankfully, Matthew did get a few minutes of footage (mostly on our last day), which he put together into this adorable, happy video.
I think you will get a kick out of it.
Enjoy!
This video is AMAZING! This will be looked at for years to come. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE when your daughter was noticing her dress flapping in the wind and she took it and flapped it more! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the fast motion running and the slow motion running toward the end. SO cute! Thanks for sharing your family!
I love that part too!
I love this!!!! Oh my goodness it is perfect:) this is such a treasure for your family to watch again and again:) it inspires me to get to work on our many family videos. How did he do it? Love the way it ended:) so adorable!
cute cute cute!!!!
Ahhh!!! So flippin’ cute!!
that was simply so much fun! too cute. I want to hug that lil’ boy and your sweet adorable lil’ girl…they are too much!
Please share how he did this…we are going to the beach this weekend for 5 days and I would love a short video made like this of my little girl!!! Its her 1st visit….by the way how did the hand print go that you said you were planning to do? When I saw that I bookmarked it for us to do! Not sure where to get that Plaster of Paris?
He filmed it on his iphone and edited in imovie.
The handprint was a disaster, but mostly our fault. We mixed the plaster first and we should have made the handprints first. By the time we got the handprints made (the sand was hard and difficult to form right), the plaster had hardened. We did it on our last day and didn’t have more plaster with us. We’ll try again next year! 🙂
Oh, and you can get the plaster at the hardware store for less than $10.
Thank you for the reply!!! Love all you pics and beach advice!! And your mother’s day post!!! 🙂
Hey Sheena!
Jess is right, I did use my iPhone to film and I edited it in iMovie…
BUT here are a couple tips…
-Always film your videos holding the camera horizontally rather than vertically…
-I added the effect to the video using the iPhone app CinemaFX… it’s like a $1.99 or $2.99… but either way, it’s the best video effects app out there… and it’s very easy/user friendly…
-When you’re ready to edit, begin with the song! That way, you can use the transitions in the song as a template for “scenes” in the video… while I didn’t get it exact in this video, I tried to time some of the transitions with scenes in the movie… for instance, there’s a moment in this video when Elias gets hit by a wave and looses his balance… that moment is timed with a musical transition…
-Lastly, while I wish I had filmed more video on this trip, you can definitely film TOO MUCH. Film a little every day… but don’t overdo it because there’s nothing more overwhelming than trying to edit through an hour or even 30 minutes of video…
Anyway, just what I do… hope that helps… have a wonderful vacation!
Matthew
One more question…what is that music on the video! I love it! Also is that you taking pics in the water with your camera! I would be so scared to do that LOL I don’t even want to bring my canon rebel on the beach…I am so scared of sand or water bc I do not have money to buy a new one! HaHa! 🙂 But then whats the point of having it right! 🙂
The music is angry birds. 🙂 Yes, that is me in the water with my camera. What is the point of having a good camera if you aren’t going to get good pictures? I just put the strap around my neck and am careful. 🙂
Thank you so much for giving me a smile and a giggle today!! That is the cutest video and I love the music that goes with it.
Oh, I love this!!! What a fantastic video for you to remember your beach trip by! I LOVE the editing and this is inspiring for me to take more family videos too. I have iMovie as well; I need to play around with it some more! 🙂
What a cute video! Glad you guys had a good time =)
Thank you for the extra great tips!!!! I have an HP computer but once it dies I am so getting a MAC!! I want iphoto and imovie so bad! Who knew horizontal…I always take pics and video vertically! HaHa! I will break that habit! 🙂 I will get the app and try it out! I take so many pics and video that is usually my problem…..deleting or trimming video! 🙂
