  1. World Market could have never known they were initiating a Divine Appointment for you and Miss Ruth. This campaign and how they’re partnering with you tells me a lot about their values…and I like it! And you are so fortunate to be a part of this kind of giving! Miss Ruth is precious and I’m so glad for both of you that your paths have crossed…and that in a real way, Sara is with you.

My daughter loves World Market because of their eclectic offerings; we’re happy to see they carry many of our German favorites…in other words, our family already shops there, but now how I view them is different, better. I love it when a good story does that for me :).

  2. Jessica,
God is good all the time and he is smiling down on you, I know it. And how wonderful of World Market to sponsor such an outreach and you are the perfect person to do this. I think of Sara often and I miss reading her blog each day. She inspired so many of us to “Choose joy” and that’s also what I try to do. Thank you for carrying on with her goal and reaching out to the homebound in her honor. You’ve inspired me too.

  3. JESSICA!

This was crazy beautiful… EXACTLY what this season is about.

WORLD MARKET does amazing things! Absolutely inspired!

Tears — thinking about Sara and how she loved and you love and love is forever.

    Love. you. friend.

    1. Love you. Thankful for Sara’s friendship to both of us – and so many others.

And I agree – World Market is pretty darn amazing.

  4. What a beautiful, beautiful story … must like your amazing heart. You are such an inspiration, Jess. And I love reading how Sara’s story is still shining and changing lives. And three cheers to World Market. That’s amazing!

  5. This is so great!
We always sponsor kids and families at Christmas time and buy them the gifts on their wish list — this year one family was a 19 year old single mom with a 3 month old and she wished for a camera, so she could take pictures of her baby. Talk about something close to my heart! I put a gift tag on it and wrote “Open this one right away!” and we made sure to have it charged with an SD card inside all set to go…because every mama should be able to take pictures of her baby…and especially of their first Christmas.
But how wonderful that you got to actually spend time with Miss Ruth — when my 4 year old was helping me wrap the presents for this family, she said “I just wish we could meet Dominique and Payton!” and I said “I do too!”. We sponsored them thru a local organization, and I think I will contact them to see if we could check in on how they are doing in a couple months and see if there is something else they need then…it would be so fun to see their faces too:)

    1. I love that you bought her a camera – it brought tears to my eyes.

And yes, meeting Miss Ruth was a gift I don’t take for granted. Jen Hatmaker writes in her book 7 about the impact it makes when you get to MEET the person you are giving to. So true.
