A New Family Tradition: Pi(e) Day
Thank you to Marie Callender’s for sponsoring this post.
Did you know today is “Pi Day” – as in 3.14?
On this day, people around the world celebrate mathematics and pi in particular. Check out the official site for Pi Day – I learned a lot. 🙂 I must admit, math has never been my favorite.
Marie Callender’s decided to have fun with this special day and is encouraging people to celebrate “Pie Day” – as in pot pies and dessert pies.
THAT is more my style. Earlier this week, I ran to the grocery store and selected a pie for us to enjoy tonight. You can see Marie Callender’s massive selection of pies here. I love Marie Callender’s dutch apple pie, but decided to go with chocolate satin because I knew Elias would love it more. (And frankly, I’ve never met a pie I didn’t like – and it was super easy since it was already made – no baking needed.)
Bonus: Click here to get a $1.50 off coupon for a Marie Callender’s pie. My pie was $4.99 at Kroger – with the coupon, it would have been just $3.50 – you can’t beat that. 🙂
After buying the pie, I remembered that Matthew and I are going see Rob Bell tonight, so we had pie as a family last night. I guess Elias will be enjoying leftovers with the sitter tonight. 🙂 (If you want to go all out, here’s a few party ideas for you.)
I think Elias thought feeding me pie was more fun than eating pie himself. Silly goose.
Eating pie on Pi Day is a fun new tradition we are going to embrace annually. Who doesn’t love an excuse to eat pie?
And it will be a fun memory to include in Project Life! (I saw on Instagram scrapbooking superstar Stacy Julian was celebrating pie day too!)
Will you be joining us in eating pie tonight?
That looks soooo good and that pic of you and your little guy says it all!
It was every bit as good as it looks! 🙂
Definitely joining in on “pie” day after seeing your post today! I’d purchased a frozen cherry pie earlier this week and now I have a good excuse to bake and share it! Can’t wait! Thanks for the reminder!!! 🙂
YES! I love new traditions – and excuses for pie. 🙂
My middle school son’s algebra class celebrated pi day as well — he said there were many different flavors brought in today!!
I love pie day! We celebrated it all the time while I was still in school. 🙂
