Project Life: HSN Sale Details + Giveaway
Like I mentioned yesterday, on this coming Monday, March 25, Project Life is going to be on HSN!
HSN will be offering two complete packages including a scrapbook, a set of page protectors, page dividers and a core kit. The two sets that will be available are the not-yet-released Jade and Blush editions.
The Blush edition is very girly and childlike.
The Jade edition is more neutral. I think it might be my favorite Project Life edition to date. In fact, when I got it in the mail yesterday, I sort of freaked out and decided that I HAD to use it for 2013 (I originally was going to save it for 2014). Thankfully, color-wise, it works super well with the Seafoam kit. 🙂 I’m sure I’ll find plenty of other uses for Seafoam. Maybe a vacation mini album? A catch-up project? Something else! 🙂
Because I was so excited, I made a video, where you can see the kit elements, sample cards, etc.

Week 8: Feb 24- March 2
Page protectors used:Page A, 8.5×11
Week eight included my day in the life, so it was a massive weeks in terms of volume of pictures. You can see I again included my Day in the Life journaling page right in the album. I love all the little details that it mentions, all of which I otherwise would have forgotten.
Here’s a close up of the first page. Everything is from the Jade kit except the date card since I already had that stamped and ready to go. I love, love, love the colors in this kit. On the bottom photo of me, I simply cut that bracket shape out of one of the journaling cards.
In the middle row, the first two pictures are instagrams. I developed them 3×3, then mounted them to the journaling cards. For the picture of Adeline on the potty chair, I used a razor blade to cut the scallop so that it could go on top of the picture.
Here is the second spread. I inserted a picture Elias colored on the back side of the day in the life insert because I ended up not writing much on the second sheet.
I then used a Design G page protector (like last month) to include my favorite Day in the Life photos. I find this approach to be very easy. A single journaling card provides additional context for the photos.
When you turn the page, you see the back of the Day in the Life insert + a Design H insert. I simply had too many photos this week + I loved being about to show y’all a few more Jade journaling cards. On the Day in the Life insert, I love the iPhone Facetime photo + the photo of our coat hook. They are both “right now” shots that I think will be especially fun to see 25 years from now.
The first side of Design H was about making cookies with the kids. I love what the Instagram cookie photo adds to the story.
Here’s the last spread. One of the many things I like about the jade kit are the diversity of “design element” cards like the today is a gift, chevron and living in the moment cards that you see here.
On the last page I used Design F to work in a bunch of photos + stories. I really like how the spread came together.

Becky and Lisa have both posted on their blogs that the kits will be at a super low value price, but per HSN rules, they can’t share the price ahead of time. If you were to buy the items on Amazon, the price would be about $100.

I have wanted to do a Project Life for 2 years. This year, b/c financially I couldn’t do the full kit I made my own with a binder and page protectors. Yes, I like it but every time I see a post on PL I just wish so much I’d have saved for one. I started documenting with Project Life last year– 2012– and I loved it! My family really enjoys going back through the year and seeing all we’ve done and accomplished. We had a lot of struggles and life changes in 2012 and would be tempted to say that it was a “rough” year, but looking back through the binder, we clearly see all the smiles, blessings, and bonding our family had through it all. I’ve used every version of Project Life and love them all! I like that all of my scrapbooks feel unique to me and that this system has encouraged me to write about so many life moments. I think of my scrapbooks as “Journals with photos.” So happy to see more gorgeous choices!

I just want to say that I enjoy all the PL stuff. I am just getting into it but have been a steady scrapbooker for years. I have 2 small children and it’s hard to keep up with all that they do.
I love the idea of PL so thank you for that. I just want to add that I DO NOT go on Facebook and I feel like everyone forgets that not everyone is on there and can miss contests and special offers. Luckily I do watch HSN and read some blogs so I am aware of the new PL Special coming up.

I actually found PL on Pinterest so I am not that out of the loop. I just felt like someone had to say something about FB. I watch QVC and HSN and they constantly want you to sign up and log on to the social media sites and it just gets ridiculous.

Being a working Senior Citizen really limits my time for my obsession of scrapbooking. Project Life would be a blessing in helping me get caught up with all the years I am trying to document as my legacy to my granddaughter. I hadn’t heard about PL until recently, and have been so excited about it since! I’d love to win because I have a two year old daughter, as well as a major obsession with photography. Of course I’d love to combine the two for such a project so that I can give my daughter all the memories from her childhood 🙂 She keeps me super busy, and this way of scrapbooking looks so much more convenient!
