Project Life: Week 30 Featuring 5th & Frolic

Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited five-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky two-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.

This week I was tickled to use some sample cards from the new Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic exclusive-to- Michaels Project Life core kit. All cards featured are 5th & Frolic, unless noted. In addition to the 5th & Frolic edition, Michaels also has an exclusive travel edition called Vintage Travel. SO fun!

When I first got hooked on scrapbooking in the early 2000s, I was obsessed with Rusty Pickle. I loved every design they made. I said to Matthew that is how I feel with anything Dear Lizzy. I just love, love, love Elizabeth Kartchner’s designs. 

My first page was very simple. Nothing fancy. Just photos + words – just as Project Life is supposed to be.

My date card is from another core kit (I pre-stamp all my date cards so I don’t have to worry about them each week.) I added a Dear Lizzy sticker to it from my stash. The picture of Adeline helping me make banana bread (first picture, middle row) cracks me up.

Then I added a Snap page protector in because I wanted to do something special for my nephew Landon’s birth and didn’t want to just squeeze it into the other page protectors in the spread. I really love how this little extra turned out. (The Hello card is from the baby edition mini kit ).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Odd sized inserts really make Project Life for me. I think they make the albums so much more fun to look at + they allow me to include even more photos in my albums.

On the back of the insert I journaled about gathering with a group of friends on Monday, a simple design filler card (Good for the Soul) + Prince George. Lots and lots of words this week, which I love.

The Design J was dedicated to my birthday. We chronicled the day with Instagrams (find me here) and I was happy to put them all in one insert. I love how girly the 5th & Frolic cards are! (FYI – these Michaels exclusive kits will not be available digitally.)

The last page was a variety of other photos from the week. I especially love the Target 90% off sale card. I also made a gratitude card (bottom right) thanks to some inspiration from Ali Edwards. Seemed fitting for my birthday week.

This kit does not disappoint (at least my sampling didn’t!). I think it would go great with Seafoam.
