Project Life Tuesday: Week 29
Welcome to Project Life Tuesday 2013 If you are new to The Mom Creative, welcome. I hope you will stay awhile. I’m Jessica – wife to Matthew, mom to Elias, a silly and spirited five-year-old, and Adeline, a spunky two-year-old. I’m also a marketing professional, savvy deal finder, photo lover and memory keeper trying to juggle it all.
Each Tuesday, I share my most recent spread as well as host a linky for readers to link up their pictures/layouts. Some links are affiliate links.
Week 29: July 14-20
Pages used: Design A, Design H, Design D, 5 x 7 , 8 x 10 and 6 x 12 for 4×6 Photos
Like I said last week, I am still in catch-up mode for Project Life. This week I finished one of my last summer layouts, as well as worked on organizing my September photos. I’m hoping I can make more headway this coming weekend.
I didn’t take a lot of photos during this week in July because I was so busy getting ready for Elias’s birthday party. Thankfully, the volume of photos that I took at the party made up for my lack of photos during the week. Count ’em – SIX page protectors in this spread. That’s crazy. 🙂
The Design D page and the 6×12 insert are almost all photos from when we took the kids to some local fountains. We took so many great pictures – it was hard to narrow it down. I used some Dear Lizzy stickers on the photos, but overall kept things pretty simple.
Then I used a 5×7 insert for Elias’s birthday invitation.
The backside of the 5×7 is one of my favorite photos of Elias from the party. I love that he’s got his gear on, you can see the X marks the spot and the treasure chest. I also dug out some old scrapbook supplies to do a simple 10×8 page. (SO sorry the photo is crummy of this spread.) I used this to write all about Elias’s epic pirate party. “The Best Party Ever” are thickers, as are the 5 and embellishments around the photo.
On the back of the insert, I slipped in the clues from the treasure hunt. I then added a Design H page protector for more photos.
The last pages are simply photos + a few predesigned cards from various Project Life kits. I didn’t think any words were needed and I was following my own catch-up advice to keep things simple.
Again, I am reminded that I love the simplicity of Project Life. Perfect for busy mamas like me!
How is Project Life going for you?
Looks like you had a fun party. I love the treasure hunt clues and party invitation.
I totally agree that Project Life is the perfect scrapbooking solution for busy moms. I have 4 kids, so traditional scrapbooking was taking way too long. Now the pictures are in albums and my family can actually enjoy them.
Thanks so much! It was a blast.
That pirate party looks like so much fun! I need to work on simplifying how I complete my layouts. I don’t mind being behind, but it would be nice if I could get caught up faster.
AMEN!
Hello, I’ve been reading your blog for some time, I love the deals you find and post for Shutterfly and others. The Project Life stuff I always just skimmed over, I have always considered myself an “old fashioned” scrapbooker. I love all the paper and embellishments – the whole mess!
Well…my local scrapbooking store (Archivers) had a sale on a ‘mini’ Project Life kit – an 8×8 album, pack of pens, and a pack of holiday journaling cards for $20. I thought what the heck, the album alone was worth that plus pens! When I started looking through all the little journaling cards, I just fell in love with the stuff. It is so cool! I am already thinking about getting another and thinking how easy it will be. I think it is just the coolest thing. I highly recommend anyone to try the Project Life stuff who has been thinking “I don’t know…” I’ll still do my regular scrapbooking, but the PL seems like it is going to be a lot fun and it’ll get me to take more photos of the everyday, which is what life is all about anyway.
Just wanted to say thanks – I love your site and now PL too!
Awww… thanks for your kind words. And YAY! for trying it. I think you will really love it.
