Our Night at ‘Disney on Ice presents Frozen’
It’s rare that we do activities during the week, but last night we planned a big surprise for the kids – tickets to Disney on Ice presents Frozen! We were so grateful to be given complimentary tickets to the show and let me tell you, it was an evening to remember.
We were joined by our friends the Larsons and the kids were delighted to experience the show together. Adeline, of course, had to bring her Elsa/Anna topsy turvy doll with her (bought at Disneyland).
The movie literally came to life. We grinned, oohed and ahhed and just had an absolutely fabulous time.
The costuming is really incredible. Of course, Adeline loved Elsa and Anna, and Elias loved the snow monster and trolls. They both also loved the wolves.
Also, it was a bit of a surprise, but the show doesn’t just have Frozen characters in it. Characters from “Finding Nemo,” “Toy Story” and “The Lion King”, several Disney princesses and Mickey Mouse all made appearances at the beginning and end of the show.
I had a chance to do a brief email interview with one of the ensemble members, Sarah Wright about the show. Frozen is her fourth Disney on Ice production, and I love how clearly passionate she is about the story.
What is it like performing in Frozen this year, a movie that has impacted culture in such an incredible way?
It is an incredible experience. The reactions from every audience have been so rewarding and amazing. Hearing the children sing along to the songs from frozen is absolutely heartwarming!
What is your favorite part of the show and why?
I love watching Olaf’s dream come true in the In Summer number, the production level is so beautiful, the colors and the costumes are breathtaking, and Olaf is always providing the audience with loads of laughter throughout the show!
What do you hope families take away after experiencing the show?
I hope that seeing the stunning film brought to life with leave them with a joyful experience that they will treasure.
What is about the show that makes it particularly special this year?
Feld Entertainment has spared no expense to make this one of the most amazing productions yet. The level of skating is spectacular and the dazzling special effects bring the film to life. For example seeing Elsa’s ice palace come together before your eyes!
I think the Nashville shows are mostly sold out, but if Disney on Ice: Frozen is coming to your city, I would definitely recommend attending. It is a show your whole family will love.
Here’s a quick one-minute video that gives you a sense of the spectacular skating, costuming and set design.
Disclosure: We were provided with tickets to see Disney on Ice presents Frozen. All love for the movie and show are our own!
This makes me excited! We are surprising my little girl next week here in Atlanta and taking her! Random question…were kids dressed up or not?
Yes, many kids were!
Thanks!
