Shark Rotator Professional Lift-Away Vacuum Review
My husband Matthew loves to vacuum. When we received a Shark Rotator vacuum to review, I asked him if he would be willing to write a review because like with our Shark Rocket, I knew he would be passionate and honest. I was right. I think he should do infomercials. 🙂 If you are looking for a full-sized vacuum, I think you’ve found your machine.
As you might recall, many months ago I confessed my love for vacuuming and then told you about how much I love the dirt-sucking power of the Shark Rocket. Since then, the Rocket has been my go-to vacuum cleaner, preferred even more than the Dyson upright that we once loved so much. But y’all, I now have a new favorite vacuum cleaner. I know, I probably sound fickle, unfaithful, and more than a little bit easy. But it’s true. There’s a brand new vacuum in my life.
Now, trust me, I didn’t plan on falling for a new vac, but then again, I didn’t anticipate the good people at Shark (apparently they read and loved my review of their Rocket) were going to send me another vacuum cleaner, this time, a just-released full-sized vacuum cleaner that not only features the unbelievable suction power and mobility of the Rocket, it also comes with a host of other carpet-cleaning bells and whistles, some of which I had no idea I even wanted on my vacuum cleaner!
But that was before I’d experienced firsthand Shark’s amazing Rotator Professional Lift-Away, the newest model in its Rotator line up.
And like I said, I’m in love. Oh, I still have feelings for my Shark Rocket—I always will—but compared to my favorite lightweight cleaning machine this new vacuum—the Rotator!—is a one-of-a-kind carpet-cleaning machine of power and versatility, an affordable vacuum cleaner for everyday people, one that will revolutionize how you perceive housecleaning. The Rotator is everything you need in a vacuum cleaner and more.
Here’s what I love about this brand new Shark machine:
1) The Suction. I mean, the Rotator really sucks. In a good way. Honestly, knowing how surprised and blown away I was when I first started using the Rocket, my expectations that the Rotator would thoroughly deep clean my rugs and carpets were much higher than before. And just like before, I was once again blown away by how much dirt, dust, and other stuff hiding inside my carpet the Rotator was able to find, suck up, and contain within its Anti-Allergen Complete Seal Technology.
As long as you clean its filters once a month, the Rotator Professional Lift-Away won’t lose any of that suction power you love.
2) The Versatility. My favorite feature of the Rotator Professional Lift-Away is how versatile the machine is, easily able to switch from vacuuming a rug or carpet to a hardwood floor with the click of a button. And I’m serious. That’s all it takes. There’s no changing components or hard-to-find manual switches—going from vacuuming shag carpet to solid hardwood or tile floors is lightening fast.
But that’s not it’s only multipurpose feature. Even more so than the Rocket, the Rotator Professional Lift-Away transforms into a myriad of surface cleaning machines, from an upright with “advance swivel steering to a lightweight portable lift-way to even a caddy vacuum cleaner.
Moreover, unlike other uprights with their bulky midsections, the Rotator Professional Lift-Away
allows you to easily remove (while still vacuuming) that bulky midsection, giving you the power to vacuum beneath furniture and chairs, under tables and beds, and most of this other hard-to-reach places that other uprights can’t go. This machine’s easy-to-change mechanism is brilliant—not awkward or complicated like you might expect—and will likely make you wonder why it took so long for somebody to create a versatile vacuum cleaner.
3) The Extras. I’m a big fan of bells and whistles, and Shark’s Rotator Professional Lift-Away is loaded with big and small extras, helpful add-ons that just make your vacuuming experience better.
For instance, LED lighting. Sure, vacuums have possessed lights on them for forever. But few have lights like this one does. It’s actually useful, giving you the power to see what you’re picking up when you’re cleaning an area with limited lighting.
It also has an super easy to dispose dust container! And I’ll admit, this one was a nice surprise. Because that’s one of my frustrations with the Rocket, in order to empty the dust pan, you’re forced to bring the entire 30-feet of rope with you. But that’s not the case with the Rotator Professional Lift-Away—disposing of the dirt and dust is easy and you can also easily clean out the dust container because it opens at both the top and bottom! You can check out all of the extras here.
If you’re in the market for a new vacuum cleaner, Shark’s Rotator Professional Lift-Away is a superb choice, a powerful, flexible, and affordable machine that will revolutionize how you clean your carpets, rugs, floors, furniture, and upholstery.
Disclosure: A Shark Rotator Professional Life-Away was provided to our family for review. All thoughts are Matthew’s.
need. want. have to have!!!
I also have this sweeper and highly recommended it to a friend, who loves it as well. I replaced a one year old, broken, big ball in the middle sweeper that I thought was the best when I got it, but quickly found out it did not pick up cat hair on one of my rugs, first pass with the Shark and the hair was gone. It did not go under anything, love that the Shark goes under my sofa and end tables with ease once the canister is lifted off. Great sweeper!!
Matthew – you made me really want this vacuum cleaner. And that is saying something – as I have never shared your love of this chore. I now want one. Today.
TOTALLY on a perpetual search for the best vacuum. Must. HAVE!
Gotta love a man who loves to vacuum. Jess, you scored with your hubby! 😉 I don’t even vacuum, and you’re making me want to check this out. Just that dust container alone!
I need this so badly!! I currently use a shop-vac with a pushable vacuum attachment… it’s not ideal at all. Definitely going to check into this one!!
I have a cleaning business, and have used many different vacuums, as I usually use the homeowners vacuum. I have little faith in uprights, having tried a few. Okay on carpet, but poor suction on floors, and I don’t even consider stairs. Attachments are always awkward with little hose length. I don’t understand how Dyson can charge what they do. Theirs is no better! it’s heavy and the attachments are awkward to use . The only upright I have enjoyed is a lightweight newer Hoover – can’t remember the name. It’s bag-less,and so well designed to understand how to change around the attachments. But this one sounds amazing! Looks like it eliminates all of my upright issues – it doesn’t stay an upright – bonus! And it has suction on floors? double bonus. That’s what a vacuum is supposed to do anyway. And what a reasonable price! My favorite has been the Sears Kenmore top of the line, or even one or two down. but I might consider this next. Thanks!
We really need a new vacuum. The one we have, we got as a wedding present – 13 years ago.
I currently own a shark…the navigator lift away. It’s better than my Dyson was but not fabulous. However, I still have the same problem as I’ve had with all vacuums and I’m curious if this model does as well. After several uses, hairs get completely tangled and clogged in the rotating brush. I have to cut them out and pull and pull with my hands. Yuck! After using your new vacuum for awhile, I’d be curious to know if this one does the same thing. Maybe it’s just the nature of the beast?? Thanks for any insight!
— I have been checking out different vacuuming products and this one also looks convincing and I am willing to try it…
