More than four years ago, while I was on maternity leave with Adeline, Matthew wrote a children’s book called God Made Light.

With words like….

And when the sun sets
and a day ends too soon,
remember God’s light always

I frankly thought it was one of the best children’s books ever written.

I still do.

Unfortunately, we were unable to find a publishing home for God Made Light, but we dreamed about someday self-publishing it. That dream became a reality last fall when we made a large investment into the illustration, design, and printing of God Made Light and released it to the world.

For Ezra’s newborn shoot (with the talented Alissa Saylor), we read the book together as a family. I love that in Ezra’s earliest days — and many more times since then — he has had truth poured over him.

God lives in him. He shines bright. He should enjoy God’s creation. These are things kids need to know and hear. God Made Light is a beautiful book full of meaningful, biblical truths.
