New Project Life Album: Watch Us Grow
As I have been working to get caught up on my photos and start scrapbooking again, I feel as if I have re-fallen in love with photography and memory keeping. One of the things I have noticed that I am especially loving these days are photos that capture my children’s growth. Photos that happen annually, like the first day of school, holidays, etc., as well as random childhood moments that repeat are incredibly special to me.
For instance, Elias is starting his seventh season of soccer this fall. Looking at pictures of him now compared to a few years ago and the change is remarkable. Even looking at the changes in my kids from the end of the school year in May compared to now!
When I did traditional paper scrapbooking, I would often put photos from different times on the same layout. Now that I have moved to Project Life, I am thinking about ways I could do something in a similar fashion, but easier.
Here’s the list I have made of pages I want to start:
- First day of school
- Last day of school
- Soccer – 1 photo per season
- Easter picture
- Halloween
- Santa pictures
- Beach vacation
- Mountain vacation
My plan is to use Design C (six 6×4 slots) and Design L (six 4×6 slots) pages for this album. For themes that each child would have their own photo, like first day of school, they will get their own page (vs. doing all the 2015 photos together). For group/family photos, those will obviously go on one page.
I plan to use label stickers directly on the photos, or use a single journaling card per page.
Now of course, these photos would be in all the individual family albums by year, but this album will be a special, at a glance style. I am really excited about this project.
Do you chronicle annual photos in a special way? Please share in the comments below.
I have just started using Project Life and I love it! When Project Life partnered with Stampin’ Up! I had to try them (since I am a SU demonstrator). I love how everything coordinates and is so easy to put together. Love watching your precious family grow!! God Bless!
I think this is such a great idea! I am doing something similar for my baby girl that was born this year. I am taking the same photo of her each month, but instead of including that picture in with others from that month I am putting all of them in one 12 pocket layout 🙂
