Encourage Creativity & Faith in Your Kids
Matthew and I are always on the lookout for excellent Christian books and products for our kids, which is why I was so excited when my friend Karen sent Elias and Adeline copies of her amazing new book, Archer’s Adventure Journal. {Be sure to read to the end for a coupon code!}
Archer is a little fox who invites kids on an adventure of exploring God’s word on a daily basis. This guided creative journal is simply lovely and rich with spiritual truths, while not having heavy doctrine in it.
What is also amazing about these books is that over the course of the year, your child documents their year. As a memory keeper, I LOVE this feature. Elias and Adeline’s Adventure Journals will be keepsakes for years to come.
Elias and Adeline were elated when the books arrived a few days before we went on vacation. They each had a small carry-on for the trip and wanted to bring the journals with them.
The 500-page, 9×7 journals are designed for ages 4-10—let that soak in. 500 pages. These big, beautiful books are divided by 13-week seasons.
Other features include:
- 39 hand-illustrated coloring pages that coordinate with the season, 1 for each weekend page.
- 39 Bible Verses, to help children memorize scripture (1 for each week)
- 2 pages for teachers or parents to write encouraging letters to children (1 Birthday letter, 1 New Years Letter)
- An All About Me page that lets kids write down all of their favorite things, facts about themselves, height, age and a place to make their handprint.
- A 10 page “Bible Verses Feelings Guide” that has a list of common emotions, and Bible scriptures that they can apply to how they are feeling.
- 4 Encouraging Words Pages designed to be written in by parents, family, friends, classmates, teachers, sports team members, siblings, and anyone else who wants to love on your child through words of affirmation.
- 2 “I AM” Statement pages designed to help children become established in who they are in Christ.
- 1 “Birthday page” dedicated to remembering all of the things about their birthday celebration
- 1 “Fun Things You’ve Said” page created to give parents and teachers a space to jot down the great things kids say sometimes.
- 1 “Look What God Did” page to cultivate gratitude and thanksgiving in the hearts of children. This page was designed to help kids be notices of what God is doing in their every day lives, and write down answers to prayer and ways they’ve seen Him work.
- 1 “It’s A New Year” page that gives kids a place to write their favorite memories from 2015, and what their goals and dreams are for 2016!
I receive books in the mail nearly every day. I only share a small percentage, and even blog about a smaller percentage. These Archer Adventure Journals captured my heart and I have been so excited to tell you about them. I know y’all will LOVE them for your kids.
They retail for $32, but are on sale for $22. If you order two or more you can get 20% off off with the code jessica, which means you can get TWO FOR JUST $35.20. This is an incredible deal. I hope you will order some for your elementary aged children today.
These are beautiful! I went to go look at them on the site and it looks like they are marked down to $22 right now! Score!!! These would be a great gift for my children church kiddos that are moving up in grades too. Thanks for recommending great products Jessica.
YES! I saw that and updated my text. It’s basically two for the price of one. SO awesome.
Make sure to account for shipping. For me, shipping two journals is $9.50… Still worth it I think, but it makes it two for around $45, which is getting up there for someone on a budget like myself.
Yes, thanks for noting the shipping. I know you are going to love the books when you get them. They are SO thick and full of great content and activities. Your littles – and you – are going to really be glad you bought them. 🙂
Thanks so much for sharing about this Jessica! I am ordering one for my 6 year old for a Christmas gift– she will have so much fun with this!
(Just so you you know the coupon code provided doesn’t work while they are currently on sale– but it’s still a great price!)
Hi Cynthia, it does work, but you have to order two or more journals. If you know someone else that might like it, maybe split the price to save on the journal and shipping. 🙂
Oh, great! Perfect. Thank you!
Do you know if there will be a new journal every year? I am trying to get 1 or 2 for my soon to be 4 year old daughter. She could use one now and I can put the other one away for next year…..
I have no idea. If the author does decide to do them again, you could always give this year’s away as a gift. It is not dated.
Thanks for this recommendation! I have a quick question- my almost 8 year old son is not into coloring at all (he refuses to do it, i have no idea why)– do you think he’d still like it?
Yes. More than half the book just involves writing. And maybe he would like to do other things, like tape in photos, baseball cards or something like that.
