Simple Morning Craft for Kids
This post about a simple morning craft is sponsored by Bounty and Disney.
With my surgery in just two days, I have been working hard to bring the magic of Christmas to our home a bit early since I won’t be my normal self this December. One way I’m doing this is coming up with a simple morning craft.
I’ve always been mesmerized by paper snowflakes, so one morning this week the big kids and I made a bunch of snowflakes to use for decorating their bedroom doors.
Yes, we totally did a craft project before school. As a working mom, I sometimes get creative with the time I have with my children. We are all morning people in our house, so when the opportunity arose that we had 30 minutes before we had to leave, I said, let’s make a little morning craft.
They were delighted when I grabbed simple typing paper (trimmed into squares), glitter and glue and they quickly got to work.
The kids had a blast, giggling as they cut. Of course, Adeline brought up her favorite Disney Frozen movie, declaring her snowflakes were “Elsa snowflakes.”
I showed them how cutting big and little shapes transforms the paper. (If we had a bit more time, I would have even used some of these online snowflake tutorials.)
Once the snowflakes were cut, we used paint brushes to spread glue on them, then shook lots of glitter on the pretty designs.
We set them on our new Bounty Prints Featuring Disney Frozen paper towel, which fit the craft theme perfectly.
When they got home, everything had dried beautifully and we decorated the doors. I love that these simple creations hold so much meaning, representing:
1. Time together: The simple act of creating together is always a joy.
2. Celebrated creativity: I love encouraging creative play.
3. Uniqueness: We talked about how every snowflake is unique, just like they are unique.
4. Memories made: I know that this simple project is likely something they will remember, especially because the snowflakes will be on their doors all season.
Once the flakes were dried and hung, we needed to clean up our mess.
It was fitting that since we had made snowflakes, we cleaned up with our new Bounty Prints Featuring Disney Frozen paper towel. This limited edition product is available now, and is also available in quilted napkins.
As I’ve shared before, I am a brand loyalist when it comes to Bounty paper towels. I truly think they are far superior to all other brands.
In the past, I’ve noticed that select-a-size Bounty paper towels were not available in patterns, but the Frozen paper towels are select-a-size, which is a HUGE bonus! We definitely don’t go through paper towel as quickly when we can use half sheets. Moreover, because Bounty is 2x more absorbent than the leading ordinary brand, you don’t have to use as much. Rolls typically last families 50% longer.
The kids were so thrilled that we had “special” paper towel. I love that simple things like snowflakes and printed paper towel bring them delight.
Do you ever do crafts with your kids in the morning or do you think I’m crazy? If so, share your simple morning fun in the comments!
Bounty is ALL I use. Love them!!!! I am so impressed you’re doing crafts in the morning before work and school. You are my hero!
I am all about the select a size. Scarlette walked in while I was reading this and said “AWWW that girl is so cute. I want to make snowflakes like her.”
Select a size is definitely a great idea! It saves so much!
Your kids are such sweeties!!!
Love the snowflake pattern. Adorable.
We always buy select a size.
