A Craft Show for Your Little Artist
As parents, it’s important to us to select children’s programming that is encouraging and has positive lessons. Amazon’s award-winning show Creative Galaxy is a new favorite in our house, and I highly recommend it for kids under eight, especially if you have a child that is interested in art and creative expression.
For this sponsored post, Amazon gave us access to preview the new Valentine’s Day special “Heart Day,” which will be available on February 7 (tomorrow).
Despite being loyal Amazon Prime subscribers, we had never tuned into the show, but now my kids are hooked, especially my 5-year-old, Adeline.
In “Heart Day,” Epiphany (Kira Gelineau, Dear Viola) is ready to show her love with a special performance on Groovopolis, but she accidently ruins her costume before the show! She and Arty (Meesha Contreras) fly into the Creative Galaxy for a solution and together they help all his friends along the way learn that everyone has their own special way of saying “I heart you!” Samantha Bee (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee) and Jason Jones (The Daily Show) guest star as Arty’s parents, and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Lisa Loeb lends her voice as Melody.
Amazon and Kahootz, creators of Spirograph, Fashion Plates and other award-winning classic toys, have teamed up to extend Arty’s art-filled adventures from Creative Galaxy beyond the screen with Arty’s Tool Belt. The colorful activity set includes an adjustable tool belt, pads for coloring, doodling and painting with water, sticker book, crayons and paintbrushes.
Adeline squealed over the set and begged me to put the tool belt on her immediately after we opened the Amazon box. She then got right to work painting with water using the included set.
I used to love painting with water when I was a little girl, so it made me smile watching her do the same.
Adelines tells us all the time that she is going to be an artist, so I love that Creative Galaxy encourages her to make things and explore her artistic passions.
Tonight Adeline and I did a Facebook Live making one of the crafts featured in the Valentine’s Day episode. Check it out:
Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Amazon Prime, but all love for Creative Galaxy and crafting our own. Some links are affiliate links.
She is soooooo cute!
Thank you! I agree 🙂
My 4 1/2 year old and I watched the video together and then made a box for Charlotte’s Valentines. She is eagerly waiting for Adeline’s next video. She said “what craft are we going to do next with Adeline and her mommy?” Ha! Adeline may need to have her own crafting video series. : ) She is a natural!
Adeline REALLY wants to do this actually. We have been talking about it. 🙂 More to come.
