Hurricane Harvey: Resources, Events and More
My heart has been shattered over the devastation in Houston. Below are a few events and resources that I thought would be of interest to you and your families.
The Hurricane Harvey Book Club
This group was started by a teacher who thought, what if people record themselves reading kids’ books? That way, kids who are displaced could enjoy stories being read to them even though they don’t have any books. The group has grown from 70 to more than 40k and is the sweetest group. Adeline wanted to read When God Made You for the kids in the group. I love how she adores reading and truly loves that book. You can watch her video below or see it in the group here.
Give and win: A birthday celebration from Stephanie Howell
My sweet friend Stephanie is from Houston, and for her birthday she is asking people to support relief efforts. If you donate to any organization supporting relief efforts, you can enter to win one of 30 amazing prizes on her site.
Together for Texas: A Facebook Live Concert Event
A group of Christian artists are coming together tonight for a Facebook Live to support those affected by the hurricane. Tune in on Natalie Grant’s Facebook page at 8 pm CST.
