The Best Paw Patrol Birthday Party

Ezra turned four on December 31, but we waited until March 31 to throw his party so that the weather would be nicer and to give a bit of space between his birthday and Christmas. We did this last year as well and it worked well.

Ezra set his heart on a Paw Patrol birthday party, and I had a blast planning it. I wanted to keep it simple, but still have special elements to make it special.

Paw Patrol Birthday Invitation

I looked at hundreds of Paw Patrol birthday invitations on Etsy. I wanted one that would include Ezra’s picture and had a cute design. Ezra’s favorite dog is Chase, so I also wanted Chase to be prominent. He LOVED this invitation (this seller isn’t on Etsy anymore, but many options are available from others). I printed it on my home photo printer because of concerns about copyright. (Some stores won’t print invitations with licensed characters).

Paw Patrol Decorations

I bought Paw Patrol decorations from Amazon and Party City. You can find everything you want including Paw Patrol tablecloths, ceiling decorations, plates, cups, napkins, and balloons.

A big Paw Patrol birthday banner was the perfect décor for our deck railing.

Dollar Tree also carries Paw Patrol helium balloons, so I bought some to enhance the decorations.

Paw Patrol Matching T-Shirts

I love having the family in theme attire for a party, but adult Paw Patrol clothes are pricey. Instead, I went on etsy and found a designer who offered cute t-shirt printables. I bought some colored t-shirts and transfer paper at Michaels and printed the designs. A quick iron-on and we were good to go. Everyone looked awesome!

Our puppy Zelda even got in on the theme with a Skye costume from Build-A-Bear.

Paw Patrol Costumes

To bring the theme to life, I made Paw Patrol hats and pup tags. These were super simple to make and were adorable.

To make the hats, I bought pink (Skye), blue (Chase), and red (Marshall) plastic hats. I then cut puppy ears out of felt and hot glued the ears to the hats. I had a sharpie on hand for parents to write their child’s name on the hats.

For the pup tags, I printed Paw Patrol badges, cut them out, attached jump rings and then slipped them onto mardi gras beads. My intent was for the kids to color them and put their names on the badges, but most kids just left them as is.

Paw Patrol Photo Spot

 

I always have a photo spot set up for my birthday parties. They are perfect for setting the scene and for lots of cute photos.

This Paw Patrol scene setter was adorable and perfect for the party. Ezra loved that it featured all of his favorite characters.

As part of the photo spot, I made a Chase police car out of a large Amazon box and some black foam core. A few coats of blue spray paint made the car come together pretty easily. I added a bit of foam covered in tin foil for the grill and some felt for the lights. I printed Paw Patrol badges to use on the car as well. It was a huge hit with Ezra and the kids.

Party Food

I kept the food really simple. We had big fresh pizzas from Aldi (my go-to party food) and fruit for the kids and chicken cesaer salad and potato soup for the parents. I decided to do the soup last minute and so many parents commented how nice it was to have “adult” food at the party. Making a crock pot soup didn’t take much time, but it is definitely something I will do again for a party.

I also made a Paw Patrol snack mix out of Paw Patrol crackers, check, marshmallows and m&ms. I put the mix in some cheap dog food bowls. It was a hit with the kids and the parents!

Paw Patrol Cake

I researched a lot of Paw Patrol cakes and debated having one made at a bakery, but they were very pricey. I then was going to make a Paw Patrol bone shaped cake, but thought it would take too much time.

To keep the cake affordable, I bought a large chocolate cake from Costco. I then added a sugar Paw Patrol cake topper that I bought from Amazon. Ezra was THRILLED with his Paw Patrol cake and the cake topper made it the easiest cake ever. Pro tip from the reviews: Don’t put the Paw Patrol sugar cake topper on until right before the party or it will melt a bit.

Paw Patrol Scavenger Hunt

We created a scavenger hunt for the kids where they had to find their favorite pups and little prizes all over our yard. I have a separate post coming for that!

I also bought a Paw Patrol “pin the badge” on Chase game, but because we had so many kids at the party, I opted not to set it up. If you have 6-8 kids at your party though, this would be worth getting.

Paw Patrol Party Favors

I kept the party favors super simple – a Paw Patrol bath paint, activity book and little music toy.

I placed the favors in clear bags and were a fun gift to give as our party guests left.

Ezra’s Paw Patrol party was one of my favorites ever. It’s been over a month and he is still talking about it. I hope this post helps you if your child wants a Paw Patrol birthday party.
