Girls Trip to Nashville: What to Do
If you are planning a short girls trip to Nashville, here are some recommendations of great to do in the city — from a local who lives here!
My best friend Colleen came to visit me in Nashville for 48 hours. It was her visit solo visit to the city in over a decade and we tried to squeeze in as much as we could in the city. Hopefully this post is helpful if you are planning a girls trip to Nashville.
Day 1 Nashville Itinerary
My friend’s flight landed at 11, so after picking her up at the airport, we needed to get some lunch to kick off her girls trip to Nashville.
Lunch in Green Hills at Restoration Hardware: If you have never eaten at an RH, it is such a treat! The food is delicious and the setting is beautiful. If you like to shop, Greens Hills offers lots of great shopping including The Mall at Green Hills, Hill Center outdoor mall and Parnassus Books (one of the best indie bookstores in America).
Visit Downtown Franklin: We decided to head to downtown Franklin to shop the charming shops and enjoy a beautiful day outside.
Dinner in midtown: We then went to the new Italian hot spot for dinner, Luogo and it was phenomenal. You must get the meatballs!
Ice Cream at Jenis: Jeni’s is a must stop for dessert! Find locations here (we went to 12 south, but if you wanted to do downtown at night, you could go downtown).
Day 2 Nashville Itinerary
Breakfast option: We decided to have an easy morning, but if you wanted to go out to breakfast, visit the Loveless Cafe, a Nashville landmark known for its biscuits.
Then head to Cheekwood, a beautiful botanical garden. Each season Cheekwood has different displays and events. Some require advance tickets, so check their website.
For lunch, we had reservations at True Food in Green Hills. This lunch and the rest of our day was canceled because of the tragic Covenant School shooting. Here is what I would recommend doing after lunch:
Do some shopping in Green Hills and 12 South neighborhoods. Be sure to shop at my favorite store, Draper James in 12 South.
Visit The Opry or The Ryman at night for a great Nashville music experience.
Day 3 Nashville Itinerary
Donuts from Five Daughters at L & L: Their 100 layer cronuts are divine. Don’t skip the maple!
See The Parthenon: Nashville’s iconic landmark in honor of Nashville being the Athens of the South.
Then, a quick tour at the Country Music Hall of Fame. You can easily get through the whole thing in 75 minutes if you don’t read everything.
Before heading back to the airport, walk from the Country Music Hall of Fame to the Honky Tonks downtown. Enjoy live music as you walk, and then eat lunch at The Assembly Hall.
If your flight is later, visit the National Museum of African American Music. It’s spectacular!
