FAQs about Audible
Currently Audible is offering a three month free trial, for all current and many former customers. This deal is only available until July 31st, so click right away to get it added to your account for free.
This is their best ever deal. Here are some commonly asked questions about Audible to help you decide if Audible is right for you. This post uses Amazon affiliate links.
Do I have to have Amazon Prime to get the free trial?
No, Amazon has opened up the free Audible trial to anyone. This is rare and an awesome opportunity to try this incredible service.
Can I get the free trial if I am already an Audible member?
Unfortunately, no, but you can likely get a discount. I recommend contacting Audible customer service via chat or phone and ask if they can offer you a discount since they currently are offering new customers the three month trial. OR, you can go through the process of starting to cancel your account and usually they will offer you an incentive to stay (just be sure you don’t have any remaining credits before starting to cancel an account.)
What is included with your membership?
With an Audible membership, you will get access to Audible’s unmatched collection of audiobooks—including bestsellers and new releases. You get one book to keep a month with your membership. With the trial you will get a total of three free books to keep forever. Additionally, you get access to thousands of included audiobooks, Audible Originals and podcasts. You also get to shop exclusive sales and deals that Audible offers periodically.
Is it easy to cancel?
Yes, simply go to your account details and click cancel membership. Very, very easy!
Will I lose my credits if I cancel?
Yes, so be sure you redeem them before canceling. All books you redeem with your credits are yours forever.
Will I have access to my books if I cancel?
You will have access to the books you got with credits and purchases, but not the free Audible Plus library.
Can you share Audible accounts?
You can if you have a Family Library set up. This will let you share with one other account.
Can you read the book too or just have the option to listen to it?
Audible does not include an ebook with your audiofile, however sometimes Amazon will offer you a deal if you buy an ebook to get the audiobook for a discount. These offers are only on Amazon.
Are there kids books on Audible?
Yes, Audible has a wonderful library for young readers.
Why should I get Audible when I can borrow from my library with Libby and Hoopla?
Audible is like another tool in your reading toolkit. It has some books that your library won’t have. It’s also great for when you need a book quickly and there’s a long line on your library hold list.
What if I listen to a book and don’t like it?
Audible has a generous return policy where if you don’t enjoy a book or the narrator, you can return it and get your credit back. Of course, please don’t take advantage of this system!
I’m really busy. How can I find time to listen to audibooks?
That’s the great thing about audiobooks. They fit in perfectly with busy lives. Some of the times I listen to audiobooks include when I am cooking, cleaning, getting ready, running errands and even when I am at kids’ sports practices. Audiobooks are perfect for busy people.
