Prom Brunch Gathering & Menu for Teens

I hosted a prom brunch for 12 of my high school junior’s friends. This was the second brunch I hosted for this crew of friends and once again the food was a big hit. (Check out the Christmas brunch for 20 here.) It was a delicious menu that was easy to prep some of it ahead, making day of not very stressful.
The kids came to my house after prom for an after party, and then some kids went home, some stayed at another house and some stayed at my house. Then many of the kids came back to my house at 11 to have brunch.
After Prom Brunch Menu

Pancakes: These Joanna Gaines pancakes, which are my FAVORITE, were a hit. This is my favorite pancakes recipe. I tripled it, but double would have been enough.
Egg, sausage, pepper and cheese breakfast casserole — Matthew helped me by prepping this the night before. It took about 55 minutes to bake, so keep that in mind. Huge hit!
French toast casserole: I have wanted to try a version of this recipe for a long time. I used brioche bread and it came out a little more moist than I would have liked. The kids really liked it too. Next time I will try this recipe from The Pioneer Woman.
Watermelon wedges: These were easy to prep and the kids all devoured it.
Bacon — lots of bacon! I did three big packages from Costco and could have probably had a fourth.
For drinks I served lemonade, orange juice and water.

The kids had so much fun and were so grateful. I also printed a group photo from prom and then put it in these frames from Amazon. They were less than $1.50 each and such a fun keepsake for the kids, who don’t really print photos these days!
What I’ve learned from hosting over the years is that a lot of people don’t want to do it, or get really stressed about the size of their house, having things perfect, etc. None of those things really matter. Some warm food and hospitality is all you need to make people feel happy and delighted. I know this was a gathering these kids will remember, and I loved hosting it. 🙂
I hope this menu is helpful if you are planning a big breakfast or brunch gathering.
