Daily December Album
Today I would like to share my Daily December album with you. The Daily December album project was developed by Ali Edwards, one of the most influential scrapbooking personalities in the world. I have been a long time fan of her style and approach.
The concept behind the project is very easy. You simply create an album that will be filled with a picture/story from each day in December. The point is to have the album done BEFORE December so that when the holidays come, you can simply fill it as the days go on. By creating the album in advance, you can work on it every day and not forget the little things that make the season extra special. This project was particularly appealing to me because:
- It is Elias’s first Christmas – and I want to be extra attentive to everything that makes it special.
- I love mini albums
- It encouraged me to use my stash of Christmas products
- I loved Ali’s album last year
Below is a video I made showcasing some of my album, as well as what else I plan to do to make the project work for me.
The foundation of my album was one of those dollar albums from Target (I always buy several when they have them in stock). I painted the covers using ruby paint from Making Memories. I smeared the paint over the Jenni Bowlin numbers as well, as then removed some of it (while it was still wet) with a Magic Eraser. The paper that was not cardstock I mounted on cardstock (from the album) and the cardstock and transparent pages are not mounted to anything.
I really think that the large envelope (featured in the video) filled with some basic embellishments will help me quickly complete the album pages each day in December.

I’m still working on my album and even posted a little about it (tonight, this morning….whenever it really is right now). Thanks for sharing.
I love that idea. And I love how you made some of the pages smaller, or have a pocket [for a possible Christmas CD?]. That is such an awesome way to use up my Christmas paper and embellishments…and I will definitely have to go search Target for these $1 books.
This is AWESOME. It is my favorite thing you have shared with us (besides pictures of Elias of course). I love this especially with having a new baby like yourself and not wanting to forget anything from her first big holiday. Thank you so much for sharing!
I love love love the idea, I just have to find a similar album here in DR; going to look it up to try it out 😀
You did a FANTASTIC job, Jess… I love the size of that album, and the fact that it’s a consistent style, but not repetitious inside the album. Super cute… but it will be amazing once Elias’ little face is in there too 🙂

I love the Christmas album idea. It is fantastic! I can’t wait to get started on my son’s (it’s his first Christmas too).I am so excited! Thank you so much for sharing your scrap booking ideas as a beginner I love to hear them.

I’m doing this project as well, but have been dragging my feet. I saved a ton of papers from last Christmas and they’re a lot of the papers you used in your album! I’m so glad you posted your album! It’s greatly motivating me!
I found your blog from bring the rain. I too like scrapbooking and love the idea of making an album like this. I can’t find the dollar albums at target though and am trying to think of something to use for the outside that is in my budget or that might have. Any thoughts? it is my daughter’s first christmas too. i love your blog and am amazed at all the ideas i have found for scrapbooking and other crafts that i can totally do myself!
