Turning Favorite Books Into Movies
Elias LOVES being read to. Right now we mostly read simple board books since he likes grab every page and I am certain regular books would be torn to shreds and then the shreds would be sucked on.
When he gets a little older, I know we will enjoy the book, Where the Wild Things Are because seriously, what child doesn’t love this book.
I was delighted to learn that a movie is coming out based on the book. It looks adorable. Check out the trailer.
What children’s book do you think they should turn into a movie?
Eloise comes to mind for me. I love that story.

JESSICA,THIS IS SO SWEET.I WILL BE GLAD WHEN THE MOVIE COMES OUT.I DID NOT KNOW THAT.THANK-U FOR SHARING!HAVE A BLESSED DAY!
I think the trailer looks really good. I am sure Elias will love it when he is able to understand 🙂
I remember when I wa s abit younger really wanting the Cat in the Hat to be made into a film and it was!
My niece loves this book called the “The Cuddly Bear and the Mountain” and I think it would make a great movie about teaching kids the joys of camping, outdoors, nature etc!
Have a great Monday! xxx.
My son loved Patrick’s Dinosaurs. You should check it out when he’s a little older.
Hopefully it’s not terrifying… the cute music made the trailer not so scary, but those wild things could easily send a child into therapy if it’s not done right…
I am so excited to see this one too! I am like you, I love reading to my kids and want them to love the classics! I would LOVE to see the Very Hungry Caterpillar in a theatre near me!
I went to the movies this weekend and did you know that Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs is going to be a movie also! I am so excited because I love this book. If you have never read it, you should because it is so cute!
Eloise is a movie 🙂

Books that are movies that I love:
Charlotte’s Web
Anne of Green Gables
and Little Women.
Books that I felt they could’ve done better:
James and the Giant Peach
Books I’d like to see turn into movies:
I think the Magic Tree House books would be fun for kids to make into movies.
Bark, George! would be funny.
Pigeon books by Mo Williems (I think Pixar would be a great rendition of these…their Pigeons in Bolt were hilarious)
I am sure their are more but that is all I can think of for right now 🙂
Did you know that Scholastic has an illustrated movie version of the book available? It is basically narration of the story over the book’s original illustrations that “move” – it’s wonderful for young kids. Highly recommended.
