Inspiring Stories Worth Following
Note: Giveaway Thursday is going to be Giveaway Friday this week, as I need a little more time to write my post. Hint: It is a book that I think every mother should own. It has MAJORLY impacted me… and I want to do it justice.
Ever since Audrey’s story, my eyes have really been opened up to stories of hope in the midst of pain in the blogosphere. Today I want to share two stories that I think are worth following.
Tanner Time
Tanner is the six-year-old daughter of a former Lovell employee (where I work). She was recently diagnosed with leukemia, but is fighting it like a champion. In just a few short weeks, she has already experienced more pain and suffering than I have in my whole life. Yet she continues to press on and her body is responding well to the chemo. Her parents are strong believers. Her mom, Beth, writes with honesty and passion.
I know that many of you will love and be inspired by Beth’s writing on Tanner Time. Check it out.
Gwendolyn Strong: Sponsor a Mile
You may remember in February when I wrote about the little girl Gwendolyn who has the disease SMA. Her mom recently wrote to tell me that at the end of June, they are traveling 5,000 miles via RV from California to Mississippi to unite Gwendolyn with her 104-year-old great-grandfather. And in an effort to create more national awareness about SMA and raise funds to cure this disease, they launched “Sponsor-A-Mile to End SMA!” to go along with Gwendolyn’s drive across the country. Their goal is to raise $50,000 through sponsorships of each mile – $10 per mile. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the Gwendolyn Strong Foundation to benefit SMA research, awareness, and support. Check out the effort here – and please do what you can to help. They have blog buttons, information and offer easy ways to donate.

I will be sure to read their stories! 🙂
I saw your tweet about Tanner the other day and went and read her whole site. I walked through the cancer process with my best friend and her daughter and it took me back so much to read it. Too many kids suffering with this… we so need more research.
The Strong family are amazing… They have been an inspiration to me EVERY single day since I found them online… Bless you for writing about them! I am so happy that they are getting such amazing support in their efforts.
