She’s Already Amazing
We’ve become like sisters over the past two years of phone calls, emails and too few visits.
I sometimes say to Matthew, “I can’t believe we’re friends.”
You see, to most, Ann Voskamp is the prolific writer of One Thousand Gifts – the book that changed their lives.
To me, her words are only part of the special friend she is.
She is a friend who listens. When I called her in hysteric tears about Sara beginning her journey toward heaven, she listened and cried with me.
She is a friend who prays. Oh how she prays. She sends notes in the morning just to say she is thinking of me and praying.
She is a friend who hugs tightly – even with parentheses. I love those emails that end with (((JESS))) – the next best thing to a real hug.
She is a friend who understands that motherhood is wonderful and challenging. She is always there to share her wisdom. And she loves my kids.
She is a friend who laughs. I tend to say things just as they are and it tickles her.
She is a friend who creates. Did you download her Joy in a Box freebies? It is incredible! I love her heart for creating. She inspires me.
She is a friend who writes. Oh, does she write. Her words draw me to Jesus. (If you haven’t seen her latest creation, Selections from One Thousand Gifts, you must check it out. It is so beautiful. The perfect gift.)
She says everyone needs a Jessica.
She’s wrong.
Everyone needs an Ann.
Ann, you are amazing.
I love you and hope we will share life together all our days here on earth. Any chance of moving that pig farm to Nashville?
I’m linking up this post on the You’re Already Amazing party on Holley’s blog. In case you missed the announcement, we are reading her fabulous new book for our Bloom study this spring. I hope you will join us.
Also, today is the last day you can get one of 25,000 free cards free from Cardstore.com! Use code: CCE2246 (Valid thru 3/14 for the 1st 25,000 Cards Ordered Daily!). Awe, what a sweet tribute post to a dear friend. Thanks for sharing. I think we all need a Ann and a Jessica. 🙂
I love Ann and I love how you love her!!
I adore Ann and am so thankful for the gift of being able to hug her–God surely gives us the desires of our hearts–it’s like hugging the closest thing to Jesus in the flesh; not because I think she’s perfect, but because of her love for people. Because Jesus shines through her — radiates, even. Even (especially) through the broken parts.
You are *both* absolutely already amazing {and completely darling, totally adorable, beyond beautiful…}.
Love you girls so much. xo
Oh you two make me smile so so much! Everyone needs both an Ann AND a Jessica!
I love you both dearly!
Yes and amen. I love, love our Ann. And I love YOU, Jess. Thank you for this.
My to-do list said to write to Grandma this week. Thanks to this offer, I can now check that off of my list! Thanks!
