Living Out Our Passions & Choosing Joy
With the release of The Fringe Hours tomorrow, I have been thinking a lot about my friend Sara, who entered the arms of Jesus in September 2011. Sara was a dear friend who was always there to listen, encourage and inspire. I miss her deeply and know she would be so excited about this book.
The last chapter of The Fringe Hours is called Live Well, and Sara inspired a big chunk of that section. You see, Sara had a disease that forced her to be 100% home bound. Literally, the air outside could have killed her. But despite her circumstances, she chose joy day after day. She lived out her passions. (Listen to her singing hymns here.)
In the bible, Jesus says to love your neighbor as yourself. Sara did that. Even though she had many limitations, she took care of herself and made time for her passions.
I believe that because she did this, she loved incredibly well.
Honestly, I don’t know many who loved like Sara loved. Her love and relentless friendship marked my life in ways I cannot even begin to articulate.
Today, I am sharing a bit about Sara and her choice to live with joy.
Pursuing your passions and choosing joy will impact every area of your life. If you haven’t ordered your copy of The Fringe Hours: Making Time for You do so today. I know you’ll be inspired.
So excited for your book! But I was also wondering about the beautiful notecards you have pictured above… where can I find them? I know some pretty amazing friends whom I could bless with them!
Hi Connie – they are part of The Fringe Hours collection on DaySpring. I haven’t mentioned the collection yet because most of the products won’t be available for another week. That said, the postcards ARE available and they are SOOOO pretty. You can buy them here: http://www.dayspring.com/the_fringe_hours_postcards_set_of_6/
Thanks for your kind words and encouragement!
Hi Jessica – you have such an amazing storytelling ability! I love these short videos that give a preview of your book. I can’t wait to receive my pre-ordered copy soon! 🙂
Jessica,
Congratulations! I am so excited and happy for you. I got my notice that my copy of The Fringe Hours has shipped today! Yay! So excited. I get tears in my eyes thinking of Sara and I met her through you and came to love her sweet spirit. I will always remember her “Choose Joy” and I know you honor her memory and she would be so very proud of you. When I first started following you, I wondered how you found time to do all that you do. I think I know now, but I will definitely know more when I have the pleasure of reading your book. That is just awesome that you are now a published author. And mother of three. Back in the days when I first met you, there was only Elias. You are very talented in so very many areas and I am so happy to know you through your blog!
Hugs!
