Dollywood: Festival of Nations
Last week we vacationed in the Smoky Mountains. When planning our vacation, Dollywood was at the top of our list. We were fortunate that Dollywood opened just four days before our visit and that they offered us tickets to come experience the park and the Festival of Nations.
The Dollywood Festival of Nations goes through April 20 and celebrates cultures from around the world. Some of the highlights included:
Amazing shows: I would have been happy going from show to show and seeing them all during our visit. Dollywood has nine international performances scheduled throughout the day every day during the Festival of Nations.
We made sure to carve time out to see the Rhythm of the Dance from Ireland, which was at the top of my list. I was a huge fan of Lord of the Dance growing up and it was so fun to introduce our kids to Irish dancing. The performers were top-notch, and the show was fantastic.
We also caught part of the Mariachi Divas, representing Mexico and Latin America and their energy was contagious.
Fun shopping: All down Dollywood’s Showstreet are vendors selling products from their respective countries.
My kids loved seeing all the beautiful items. Adeline exclaimed several times, “Mommy, I’ve always wanted this!” She kills me.
Beautiful decorations: The park is decked out in flags and international décor. This really added so much to the experience of the Festival of Nations.
It is a great time of year to visit Dollywood. It wasn’t overcrowded and the weather was beautiful. Our family definitely loved our experience and will be back.
Disclosure: Dollywood provided tickets for our group to experience the park. All thoughts are my own.
We missed doing Dollywood on our trip–the weather was a little too cold for lots of outdoor fun–and I was so disappointed. Looks like we need to make another trip sometime soon!
Like your blog, but you might want to check out the Federal Trade Commission guidelines for blogging, which actually require you to disclose at the top of posts when you are in fact posting something that amounts to an ad for which you have received some form of compensation.
Hi Clara, yes I very familiar with FTC guidelines. I actually disclosed in the third sentence of this post (“We were fortunate that Dollywood opened just four days before our visit and that they offered us tickets to come experience the park and the Festival of Nations.”) So in actuality, I doubled disclosed – top and bottom. 🙂
Jessica, I find your posts reviewing a product, destination, or experience to be really well done! You’re always very clear about what you’ve received compensation for, and your reviews are honest, clear, and fun to read – without feeling like a sales pitch 🙂
I’m glad you guys decided upon Pigeon Forge. Living in Asheville, it is easy for us to make a quick weekend getaway there. We have a Dollywood season pass because the boys enjoy it so much. We are all itching to get back there! I’m not sure which cabin rental company you used, but we absolutely love Timber Creek Cabins!
So glad you guys had fun. 🙂
