St. Patrick’s Day Class Treat + Printable
How is it already almost St. Patrick’s Day? Also, when did St. Patrick’s Day become like Valentine’s Day and kids bring in treats? I don’t know the answer to either of these questions, but I have a quick solution to the dilemma: this pirate-inspired St. Patrick’s Day class treat.
I made these adorable pirate tags (click here to download) that will virtually work for any treat you put in a bag. Simply tie with a green ribbon and sign with a green marker and you have an easy St. Patrick’s Day class treat!
Because of my Target clearance shopping habit, I happened to have pirate items (bubbles and tattoos) that I scored last year during the 90% off Valentine’s sale. I also stock up on items like this because they are perfect for classroom giveaways, party favors, etc. However, any small gift will work.
What you need:
- Clear treat bags
- Small gift items (we used Pirate bubbles and Pirate Tattoos that I bought 90% off after Valentine’s Day from Target).
- Green ribbon
- Pirate tags
Instructions:
- Fill treat bags with treat of your choice
- Tie with green ribbon
- Add tag
- Celebrate a job well done!
Hope this helps you put together a sweet, non-candy St. Patrick’s Day class treat! For more inspiration check out my St. Patrick’s Day Pinterest board.

The real question is when did easter become Christmas?!? Lol.
A better solution – don’t ad to the insanity & don’t send in anything. WIth 3 kids I just went through their Valentine’s Day boxes and I can’t tell you how many of those treat bags from Valentines Day were thrown out b/c its just too much. Too many pencils, erasers, little chotchkies from the dollar store that just get tossed aside after the day is over & never used. Regardless of whether you spent a $1.00 or .10 its too much. Send a paper valentine like we all used to and that’s it. Bags of candy, cups, big chocolate hearts are crazy. What mom wants her kid eating all that? We end up regifting or donating but even that is annoying. Its bad enough at Halloween, then Christmas & now St Pat’s Day?
Lets just all stop!
{end of rant}
A rant indeed. 🙂 Honestly, not sending anything just makes for an unfortunate situation for the child and is not something I would ever do.
I took it as an opportunity to do something fun with my son. It didn’t take much time or money and Elias was SO excited putting the treats together. It also teaches the idea that it is better to give than to receive.
Lovely post!
