A Quickie: 5 Minute Kid Photos
One thing I have learned since becoming a mother is that I never regret picking up my camera. I used to make a production out of photos, but I have come to realize that any documentation is valuable.
Last week we had a few extra minutes before leaving for work/day care/camp, so I asked the kids to come out on the deck so I could take a few photos of them.
The photos are timestamped 7:14-7:18, so in less than 5 minutes, I took 67 photos and captured some great shots of my kids right now.
Are they perfect? Maybe not from a professional perspective. But from a heart perspective? Yes.
Today I want to encourage you to pick up your camera and take some photos. Capture your kids, just as they are, right now.
You might just end up with a few photos that make your heart sing. Moreover, years from now you will look back at those photos and be so very happy you took them.
If you want to improve your photography, check out these awesome photography ebook and class bundles (affiliate links). With three options (beginner, intermediate and pro) this might be the resource you have been looking for. I bought the intermediate option and can’t wait to dive in!
My photos were taken with a Canon 70D and a 50 mm 1.4 lens.
You have really cute kids. I like taking pictures of my girls, just random everyday shots. I never pose them because they don’t look like kids being kids. Candids are my favorite.
I love candids too!
So cute! I always say – the best camera is the one you have with you :):)
I agree!
The expressions on your children’s faces are priceless! I, too take gobs of photos, do you scrapbook? In recent years I have changed to online photo books. I have a fancy camera, but in the end it seems I capture the best shots on my i Phone!
So funny that you ask if I scrapbook, since this blog started out as a scrapbooking blog! I could probably start a small store, I have THAT many supplies.
I mostly do Project Life, and fell out of that routine during my pregnancy/new baby phase, but I am working hard to get caught up again.
I do photo books for big stuff like family photo shoots, vacations and my kids’ birthday parties.
