Weekend Links: Snow Day Edition
Hello friends! I didn’t intend to take the week off from blogging, but some weeks are like that. Elias’s school has been closed since Wednesday due to ice and impending snow. I had a killer week at work because I have two trips next week and will be out for 4 days, so there was a lot to prepare. I lost a camera card that had photos on it for two posts (thankfully I found it last night). Ezra and Adeline are sick.
Needless to say TGIF.

Deal of the Week
Did you know that Shutterfly is offering FREE 4×4 and 4×6 prints when you print through their app? It’s totally motivating me to get photos uploaded there and printed. It limits the shipping to 250 at a time, but it is still a GREAT deal.
Find of the Week
As you know, I have been a long-time subscriber to Stitch Fix, the styling service that send you a box of five items for you to try, buy or send back. Well, I have found something better that I am crazy excited about: Trunk Club for Women. I will be doing a full review post soon, but here are a few highlights:
1. No $20 styling fee
2. Box of 15 items, not 5
3. Preview of what’s coming, with option to decline items right off the bat
4. Stylist corresponds with you via phone/email, making for a much more personal experience.
5. Free shipping both ways
6. Lower price point available (I got a shirt for $22). Just be sure to tell your stylist your price range.
Here’s my referral link to check them out. Perfect thing to do on a snow day. (They also offer a men’s version!)
Book of the Week
This week I read Eat That Frog and found it to be CRAZY inspiring. I find myself thinking about the concepts all the time, trying them out in my own life, etc. It’s truly a must-read, whether you are a working professional or stay-at-home mama. SO many good tips.
Next week, my 2016 reading list will FINALLY post. I have been tinkering with it for two weeks now. It has SO many good books on it. I think y’all will love it.
Happy weekend!
Jessica~
I am so sorry about your tough week. It seems inevitable that things might get rough after the Holidays, I know my family experienced the same thing the week after New Year’s Day. I hope and PRAY that your “stuff” will get back to wellness. I HAVE missed your posts this week (not a complaint, just want you to know I love them). Just so you know, I awaken at 4 am 6 days a week for my online job. Most days, I am able to sneak a peek at your latest post with my cup of coffee once I sign in and have a few hours under my belt… Love reading about your life. I went out and bought your book in October, and Self Care is on the TOP of my Resolution List! So far I am on track. Thank you for your Book. I am saving for the 2nd book (don’t do Kindle), and I have recommended your “Fringe Hours” to all my family and friends. Great Job, and may it bless you to know that you have a FRIEND in PA!

What a lovely comment! I have missed blogging this week. I promise that next week will be better. 🙂 And I don’t recommend buying My Fringe Hours on kindle because it has lots of journaling spots. Hope you love it. Good for you making self-care a priority. Thank you for your kind words.
I absolutely adore Stitch Fix but lately they have been sending some less than thrilling boxes. Excited to try Trunk Club! Thanks for the tip.
I too adore Stitch Fix, so for me to say I have found something better is saying something serious. 🙂 Hope you like your Trunk Club experience. xo
I am definitely checking out Trunk Club! I’m a very frugal shopper when it comes to clothes, however I do love my fashion. 😉
So great to run into you at the grocery store. Hang in there! You are very inspiring for many moms. We all are having some crazy weeks it seems! Winter is fraught with illness. My big girls can fend for themselves very well now but life pulls me in all sorts of directions. xoxo
I think you will really like it, Jamie. I am very frugal as well, but I have learned that investing in quality clothes saves me money in the long run. Thanks for your kind words. xo
Trunk Club for women! Yes! My husband does the Trunk Club for men and I’ve been really impressed with what he gets and how “him” it is and that they call and ask him for feedback, etc. The price points have been high on his, so I’m glad to know you found some things not so high in price. My mom just asked if I wanted a Stitch Fix box for my birthday – maybe I’ll ask for money towards this instead:)
I love your weekend links edition. I may have to do something similar to recap what’s going on in my little world!
I am looking forward to your 2016 reading list. Be sure to share it at Literacy Musing Mondays.
I am a regular reader of your site, but found this post when searching for trunk club reviews. I recently signed up for this service. I told my stylist that I was mostly looking for tops that aren’t sleeveless at this time. When I told them that I wasn’t willing to spend over $100 for an item right now I was told “Our price points are around $100-$300 on items and we tend to not go any lower than $80.” I am wondering if this is the norm or if it was just my stylist. I would be wiling to spluge on a great pair of jeans, dress or shoes, but that’s not what I’m looking for right now.
I would absolutely push back. I have received tops as low as $25. If she won’t budge, maybe ask for a different stylist. Also, I have done two trunk club videos on my facebook page – facebook.com/themomcreative where you can see the unboxings + prices.
I came on here to look this up bc I could have sworn that you said their prices were cheaper and I got the email stating the same $100-$300/item. I thought I signed up on the wrong site Mama doesn’t have that kind of money!
This mama doesn’t either. Did you share your budget with your stylist? After my first trunk, I never receive things over $100, and many in the $30-$69 range.
