Baby Wonder Woman Costume Tutorial
If you are looking to make an easy and adorable Wonder Woman costume, this tutorial has everything you need. I made this costume for my son Elias’s superhero birthday party. My little girl had just turned one and looked fiercely adorable in this Wonder Woman tutu and onesie.
This Wonder Woman costume was inspired by this costume picture on Pinterest.
Here are the steps to make this easy and adorable Wonder Woman costume.
Wonder Woman Costume Supplies
Wonder Woman onesie
6-9 yards of blue tulle (the more tulle you buy, the fluffier the skirt will be.)
24” of elastic
Two sheets of stiff glittery stars
Needle and white thread
Wonder Woman Costume Instructions
1. Measure how much elastic you will need for your child’s waist. Sew the elastic together on your sewing machine or by hand.
2. Cut tulle in strips (I recommend buying 6” spools of blue tulle vs. the large tulle you can buy on bolts at the craft store. It saves so much time to not have to cut all that tulle! Although, tulle on spools is more expensive.)
3. Knot the tulle to the elastic. (I found this tutorial helpful – she uses the kind of tulle that is on bolts)
4. Cut large stars to attach to the skirt. (I traced stars onto the felt so that they were all the same.)
5. Select a star and sew just one tip of it to the tulle. Do this throughout the skirt.
Note: For Adeline’s skirt, I used a combination of plain blue tulle (which I bought off a bolt and cute strips of by hand) + glittery blue tulle (which was on a spool). I thought the glittery would be a fun accent and it brightened the skirt up because that tulle was a brighter blue. While it was adorable, the glitter did not stay on tulle and Adeline got it all over her hands, face, etc. I would NOT recommend using the glittery tulle, unless you can find some that the glitter is worked into the threads, versus adhered it to it.
Also, I chose not to make a Wonder Woman gold headband/crown for Adeline, since she never keeps them on for very long. Instead, I just put a gold glittery bow in her hair, which I got at Forever 21 – I love buying hair accessories there for Adeline. If your child is older, consider ordering a Wonder Woman crown.
Enjoy your cute Wonder Woman!

So happy to help!
Adeline is so adorable in this costume.
I want to make one too. It seems to require some skills though.
No, it requires no skills. Watch the YouTube video I linked to. It is SO easy. 🙂
Tutu cute (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Too too cute 🙂
Thanks for the Forever 21 hair accessory tip! I found several cute thing on their website.
I often buy their accessories to make headbands for Adeline. They are so cheap – you can’t go wrong.
I just made the tutu part of the costume today for my 3 year old daughter. I found some peel and stick felt that I cut stars out of and I also used ribbon instead of elastic for the waist, because I dont sew haha… Yours is super cute but thats just a tip for any other non-sew-er out there 🙂
Sounds adorable! Thanks for sharing. 🙂
Where did you find the red onesie?!
It is linked in the post. I bought it on Amazon.
How cute! Makes me wish my daughter (almost 12) was young enough that I could talk her into one of these great tutu costumes.
